FFA Passion Project

When Jetta asked if I would be interested in helping her with her FFA Passion Project, I was all in from the start! She called me out of the blue one afternoon, explained her Passion Project to me, which is raising funds for a dog for a veteran through the organization "Angels for Veterans." She asked if I would be willing to take pictures for her to use for the fundraising. If you know me well, you know that aiding and assisting veterans is dear to my heart, so I gladly accepted. Jetta has been on my senior rep team for the Class of 2024. After working with her over the past year, I was more than happy to help her, and quite honestly, flattered that she knew she could call me and ask for help.

Angels for Veterans

Angels for Veterans is a local non-profit 501(c)3 organization that matches veterans with service/companion dogs, provides support to and advocacy for veterans. Founded by Sandra Bohle in 2009, Sandra founded Angels for Veterans with the vision and sole purpose of improving the lives of veterans. Her goal is to ease their burden through advocacy and support. In 2012 their service dog program, Angel Paws Service and Companion Dogs, was created. The service dog program provides service and companion dogs to qualifying veterans who suffer from PTSD, hearing loss, vision loss, and mobility challenges.

As the Founder, Sandra also serves as the Director of Angels for Veterans. Additional, and vital members, to the Angels organization are Kelly Bowers (Secretary), Brian Bowers (Treasurer), and various dog trainers Fran Morford (all pictured above), Melissa Knowles Stidham, and Chance Stidham.

Meeting Rocky and Tayla

In addition to meeting the heart and soul behind the organization, I had the pleasure of meeting Rocky (a "demo" dog) and Tayla (a puppy in training). It was my pleasure to work with this group. I look forward to watching Jetta work on this project and provide a companion to a well-deserved veteran. May God bless everyone involved in this effort, especially our veterans.

How You Can Help

Jetta will soon begin fundraising for the puppy, who is currently in training, to be donated to a veteran. I will share more information about that once I have it. In the meantime, please check out Angels for Veterans at www.angelsforveterans.org or by clicking the image below. They are also on Facebook.
